Affording Retirement (RET-C01)
Looking to explore if retirement is an option? This course will assist attendees in evaluating their readiness for retirement with several self-evaluation exercises. Once the exercises are complete, attendees will be introduced to the Ten Critical Questions related to retirement readiness. These are the essential questions that every retiree must answer before embarking on a successful retirement. We will cover how benefits are calculated, the nuances of Social Security, how benefits are taxed, benefits for spouses or widows and what happens to benefits if you are working. The basics elements of estate planning will be covered and students will be encouraged to conduct their own estate analysis. (formerly 'New Retirement Reality Rescue Strategies')(Fall 2016)
